The SIO Staff Support Shop is located on the ground floor of the IGPP Munk building and is open from 9 am - 4 pm Monday-Friday. The shop is available for use by all faculty, students, and staff. There is a nominal charge for all but students, who can use the shop without charge.

There were no issues during the last year which required a meeting of the committee. The Staff Support Shop is managed by the Marine Science Development Shop (MSDS), which in the next year will move to its new location in the service yard north of the pier. The Staff Support Shop, where users do their own work, complements the MSDS, in which work is done by professional machinists. Together these facilities meet most of the fabrication and machining needs of the SIO community.
