TG Surfside

On most Fridays, Scripps grad students and/or staff host a TG at Surfside in the Scripps Seaside Forum. All are welcome to get acquainted with colleagues, enjoy a cold one, and kick off the weekend. Best place on Earth to see a "green flash."

Birch Aquarium Discounts

Birch Aquarium at Scripps offers a $10 discount on any membership level to all UCSD/Scripps staff. Members receive a 10% discount on Birch Aquarium bookshop and Splash Café purchases. Call aquarium membership at x45771 or visit the Birch Aquarium online for details. Scripps graduate students are eligible for a free individual membership. Please visit Birch Aquarium to sign up.

Dining at Scripps

You can use your UCSD staff ID card as a debit card for Dining Services at UC San Diego campus restaurants, but not at Scripps' Cups snack bars. For details about the Triton Cash Program, call x47587.

UCSD Phone Book

Hint: The UCSD Phone Book has a quick reference guide to campus abbreviations, the school calendar, and organized research units. As well, UC San Diego's Blink is a great online resource for faculty and staff. It has the latest in news and events on campus along with My Services, the benefits website. It offers information and resources about health and welfare, retirement savings, and life events for employees. Check it out online.

Sign Up for email lists

Sign up for Scripps' various email lists to receive announcements for everything from academic alerts from your department and beach volleyball to selling old furniture and speaking events on campus.

All-Staff get-togethers

You'll not want to miss these: Scripps hosts at least two annual all-staff get-togethers that are fun-fun-fun for the whole family: the annual Scripps Day and the holiday bash. Watch the Scripps LOG for details, dates, and opportunities to volunteer to help!

Discount Tickets

Discount tickets to entertainment attractions in San Diego and L.A. are available at the Price Center Box office on UC San Diego's campus or on their website at: http://boxoffice.ucsd.edu/. Great deals on fun stuff!

To obtain an SIO Parking Sticker for your UCSD A or B Permit, you have four choices:

1. Telephone - Call Cliff Lindsay at x42830
2. Email parking@sio.ucsd.edu
3. In person - Room 104, Scripps Building, from 8 a.m. - noon and 1p.m. - 4:30 p.m
4. Online via single-sign-on (SSO)

Scripps Shuttle

  Look for this symbol to identify the Scripps Institute of Oceanography shuttle. The SIO Shuttle operates weekdays, 7:15 a.m. - 9:15 p.m., year-round (excluding university holidays).
